push me over again

ok, with a little inspiration from my dear friend jimmy, another post. I got to spend thanksgiving with my two little choo choo nieces and I must say they are a handful. Emma is three and Mary is one and a half. They enjoy running around the house, getting excited about lots of different things, answering questions asked by grown-ups and screaming very loud when they don't get their way. It was thanksgiving evening and I watched them sit in my aunt's lap over and over as she would count to ten, then fall backwards. They would yell and scream like most girls, but then help her back up and tell her to do it again. My aunt stuck it out at least 20 times, which is quite impressive, before weariness crept in. As I watched I wished it was me they were playing with, to hold them close and make them smile. My soul needs that, to fill the loneliness, to hold someone close and enjoy them, over and over. When I see those little girls I want to look into their eyes and tell them God loves them and that He will always enjoy them. As I can't make those little girls understand that, I want to belive that for myself. Im sure God looks at me wishing I could grasp how much He loves and cares for me, how much He desires me to run to him and just be with him, and Im pretty tired of knowing that but not showing up, making excuses to spent the time else where. why run? thats where I was born to be...
